Eclectic collection of short stories

As I read One Night in Bangkok and Other Delusions, I really enjoyed the way each short story is completely different from any of the others.
The Golfers of Pangaea is easily my favorite so far. I also really enjoy how each story is set in a different locale and those places seem to come alive because of the use of local idioms and contexts. Having never been to Bangkok or even Thailand, a lot of the local slang used in One Night in Bangkok was foreign to me, but was still readily decipherable. I was able to figure out the meanings through context, so it wasn't a real problem, just a little more work (which is never bad when reading!)
Looking forward to reading more works as they become available.

Pretty good collection

Of the ten stories, I liked eight of them. That always happens with a collection. You can't please everyone all the time.
They range the full gamut: sci-fi to dark noir, superheroes to pulp camp. My favorite is the title story. I really felt like I was walking the neon streets of Bangkok with new danger lurking around every bend. A golf story to decide WWI is fun, as are The Spirit homages.

This is a terrific collection of short stories with something for everyone's tastes, spanning fantasy, sci-fi through mainstream genres. Highly recommended.
