Stephen Scott Young: New Works, 15 Apr. -29 May, 2009

An exquisite, hardcover, 76 page art exhibition book showing the works of Stephen Scott Young's exhibition at Adelson Galleries in New York City in 2009. Beautiful images on the front and back covers and throughout the book. I was surprised to find three fold out pages showing larger versions of images. The paper and color production are of excellent quality. Dr. William H. Gerdts, Professor Emeritus of Art History at the Graduate School of the City University of New York,gives an insightful introductory essay. The book arrived promptly and in pristine condition. I am very pleased and impressed.

Gorgeous watercolors!

Stephen Scott Young is a tremendous watercolorist. Unfortunately I have not been able to find many images other than those commercially available, and a short video on YouTube. I was looking forward to a feast of highly technical but emotionally charged paintings. I was a bit surprised to find quite a few silverpoint drawings included in this book. At first I was disappointed but upon closer inspection, the technical finesse with which these silverpoint drawings possess is astonishing. Stephen Scott Young is not only a master watercolorist, but is also most definitely a master draftsman. If you get a chance to get a copy of this fine volume-do so. You will be humbled.

I love his work

I love his work, although his book of paintings of the Bahamas is more extensive. Nonetheless, this gives me a goal to work towards in my own efforts to paint in watercolors.
